Well it's almost time for us to head to Georgia and start the epic journey from Springer Mountain. I am not sure how to verbalize what has inspired me to do this. Whether it is a bucket list item, or just something I need to do. I do have a short list of books that have helped to inspire me. I definitely suggest that everyone read these books, even if you have no interest in ever hiking the trail. The last book is a classic, The Dharma Bums, by Jack Kerouac. This book has given me my trail name, Japhy Ryder or just Japhy.
